This year the northern lights, more properly known as Aurora Borealis, appeared over Lake Superior in northern Michigan. Usually the lights can be seen in Arctic regions such as northern Canada. However, the effect of plasma shooting towards the Earth resulting from explosions on the sun brought the lights all the way to the great state of Michigan.
It’s as if the cosmic visual wonder is here to offer hope and wonder to a state that desperately needs momentum to continue to build in the automotive industry comeback.

By the way, the astronomers say that August 12th will be the peak viewing day. Not sure how much better it can get.

A group of Israeli students at the University of Tel-Aviv put this together and won Mody's 'Wait For Me' video competition. Pre production took about a month and they shot the entire thing in two days. Really nice job.
We stumbled on “Dripping In Fat” by clicking on a link while checking out a new e-commerce platform. Expecting to find some kind of funky bacon centric site we were a little put off at first by the dripping artwork in general.
However, after looking around a bit it became clear that the Fat Drippers are just looking to have some fun and build a community around new and unique T-shirt designs. Not a novel idea, mind you, but fun and fresh nonetheless and we wish them the best.
Sure beats running around with some played-out brand stamped to your chest. I’m going to submit a design of 3 bacon strips on a pig’s back. That’s going to be my big seller.
If you want people to watch and take interest in your movie, you should have something to say. The story you tell can be driven by a message you're burning to communicate or even by an anti-message (e.g. a commentary on the overly pedantic media). Whatever your approach, there are several elements to consider that will give your work maximum impact.
Whether you're creating a two-hour epic or a two-minute news piece, think of your audience as very busy people who want you to get to the point. When it comes to video, if you can make your finished product feel like it's shorter in duration than it actually is, you're a genius (or at least well on your way to being a good filmmaker.) A 10-minute corporate propaganda piece should feel like seven minutes. We all know checking our watch at the movies does not bode well for an Oscar nomination.
